About Boerne Texas
BOERNE, TEXAS is a shopper’s delight town. The “Hill Country Mile” of shops, restaurants and art galleries is sure to satisfy everyone’s taste. Restaurants include American, Mexican, Asian and (soon) Italian cuisines with barbaque a great specialty. Visits to the microbrewery and winery interest many. A local Bar Garden and Food Park offers music, a children’s playground and a dog park. For the explorer, there are a number of parks to visit, such as Cascade Cavern and Cave Without a Name. And for the adventurer there is a Salt Cave Spa.
Boerne City Lake Park offers swimming, fishing and non-motorized boating. There are also river trips on the Guadalupe River by canoe, kayak, and a favorite — tubing! Other highlights are a skate park, go-cart park and bike park, and trail rides in the country. The River Road Park on Cibolo Creek is part of the town, but (warning) don’t try to feed the geese! Although there is only one golf course, a local airfield offers easy access to the famed Palmer Course. Located in Highway I-10, it is only 20 minutes to San Antonio by car.
